A tragic road accident in Greater Noida’s Dadri area claimed the lives of a man and his five-year-old niece after a speeding tractor rammed into their motorcycle on Wednesday. The incident took place near the NTPC underpass on GT Road in the Dadri police station area. A woman traveling with them sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.
The collision was so severe that all three victims were thrown onto the road, leaving the area in shock. The tractor driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, and police have launched a search operation to trace the vehicle and the accused driver.
Family Was Traveling From Bulandshahr To Ghaziabad
According to police officials, Shahzad, a resident of Bulandshahr, was traveling on a motorcycle with his sister and five-year-old niece to Dasna in Ghaziabad. The family was crossing the Dadri bypass when a speeding tractor approaching from behind hit their bike with tremendous force.
Eyewitnesses stated that the tractor was moving at high speed and the driver failed to slow down or avoid the motorcycle. The impact caused the bike riders to fall violently onto the road, resulting in critical injuries.
The accident created panic among commuters and nearby residents, who immediately rushed to help the injured victims lying on the roadside.
Two Victims Declared Dead At Hospital
Locals informed the police and shifted all three injured persons to a nearby hospital without delay. Doctors declared Shahzad and the five-year-old child dead upon arrival. The heartbreaking incident left the family devastated and triggered grief among relatives and villagers.
The injured woman was later referred to the district hospital due to her critical condition. Medical officials said she suffered severe injuries to the head and other parts of the body. Her treatment is currently underway under close medical supervision.
Family members gathered at the hospital soon after receiving the news, and emotional scenes were witnessed as relatives mourned the sudden loss of two lives in the accident.
Police Investigating The Case
Dadri police reached the accident site soon after receiving information and started an investigation. Officers inspected the spot, collected evidence, and recorded statements from eyewitnesses present at the scene.
ACP Dadri Prashali Gangwar confirmed that the bodies of both deceased victims have been sent for postmortem examination. Police teams are actively searching for the tractor driver who fled after the collision.
Investigators are also scanning CCTV footage installed near the bypass and adjoining roads to identify the vehicle involved in the accident. Officials believe the footage may help in tracing the accused quickly.
Rising Road Accidents Raise Safety Concerns
The fatal crash has once again highlighted the issue of reckless driving and poor traffic discipline on the Dadri bypass and GT Road stretch. Residents claimed that heavy vehicles frequently overspeed in the area, putting commuters at risk.
Locals have demanded stricter traffic enforcement, speed monitoring, and increased police patrolling to prevent such accidents in the future. Many said repeated incidents on the route show the urgent need for stronger road safety measures.
Police officials stated that efforts are underway to arrest the absconding driver soon and take strict legal action in the case.
