A shocking murder case surfaced in Greater Noida’s Ecotech Third police station area on Wednesday night after a 28-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants while heading to work. The victim, identified as Deepak Nagar from Vaidpura village, was attacked by bike-borne criminals who opened fire and fled the spot immediately after the incident.
The brutal killing has triggered panic in the area, while police teams have intensified efforts to identify and arrest the attackers.
Attack Took Place While Leaving For Duty
According to police officials, Deepak Nagar worked in the fire safety department at an IGL pump in Delhi and used to travel for night shifts regularly. On Wednesday night around 9:30 pm, he left his home on a motorcycle for his workplace in Ghazipur.
Sources said that as soon as he crossed the village outskirts, unidentified men who were allegedly waiting for him intercepted and attacked him. Eyewitnesses claimed the assailants fired nearly five to six rounds at close range.
Deepak collapsed on the road after being hit by multiple bullets. The sudden firing created chaos in the area, and the attackers managed to escape before locals could react.
Doctors Declared Him Dead At Hospital
Hearing the gunshots, nearby residents rushed to the spot and found Deepak critically injured. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The news of the murder spread quickly across the village, leaving the family in shock. Police from Ecotech Third station, along with senior officers, reached the crime scene soon after receiving information about the incident.
Investigators carried out a detailed inspection late into the night and collected evidence from the spot to reconstruct the sequence of events.
Police Suspect Personal Rivalry Behind Murder
Central Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Shailendra Kumar stated that preliminary investigation indicates the possibility of personal rivalry behind the murder. However, the exact motive is still under investigation.
Family members reportedly shared the names of a few villagers with police, raising suspicion over their involvement. Based on these inputs, police teams have started conducting raids to trace the suspects.
Officials said every angle is being examined carefully, including past disputes and local conflicts connected to the victim.
CCTV Footage Under Scanner
To crack the case quickly, police have formed two separate investigation teams. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being scanned to identify the movement of the attackers before and after the crime.
Police are also using technical surveillance and mobile tracking to trace the accused. Investigators believe digital evidence and local intelligence may play a key role in solving the case.
Residents of the area expressed concern over the incident, saying such open firing incidents have raised questions about public safety. Villagers demanded immediate arrest of the accused and strict action against those involved in the murder.
Police officials have assured that the accused will be arrested soon and that multiple leads are already being verified. Security and patrolling in the area have also been increased following the incident.
