Osmania University has announced a revision of the dates for the Telangana State Eligibility Test (TS SET) 2024. This adjustment has been made to prevent a scheduling conflict with the UGC NET exam 2024. The TS SET, which was initially planned for August 28, 29, 30, and 31, 2024, will now take place from September 10 to 13, 2024.
The revision affects the timeline for various pre-exam activities. The window for editing application forms, originally set for August 8 and 9, 2024, has been rescheduled to August 23 and 24, 2024. Despite this change, the availability of hall tickets remains unchanged, with candidates able to download them starting from September 2, 2024.
The TS SET 2024 is organized by Osmania University on behalf of the Telangana state to screen candidates for the positions of Assistant Professor and Lecturer. This examination will be administered in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format.
Candidates who are either currently pursuing their Master’s Degree or have appeared for their Master’s Degree final year exams and are awaiting results are eligible to apply for the TS SET. However, these candidates will be admitted provisionally, with their eligibility for the Assistant Professor/Lecturer role confirmed only upon passing their Master’s Degree with at least 55 percent marks.
The TS SET will comprise two papers. Both papers will consist exclusively of objective type questions. Paper 1 will include 50 compulsory questions, each worth 2 marks, while Paper 2 will contain 100 compulsory questions, also worth 2 marks each, focused on the subject chosen by the candidate. Both papers are to be completed within a duration of three hours.
The rescheduling aims to accommodate the candidates better and avoid any conflicts with other major examinations, ensuring a smoother examination process for all involved.
