Panipat (Haryana) [India], October 21 (ANI): Congress MP Kumari Selja extended wishes to the newly formed Haryana government on Monday and said that people want work to be done and the country to move forward.

Speaking to ANI, Selja said, “Panipat has also got the representation. We hope that whatever flaws and shortcomings remained (in the previous government), would be fulfilled by the government and meet the expectations of the people.”

“People want the work to be done and the country to move forward. We will extend our wishes (to the government),” Selja added.

Earlier in the day, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini called on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda in Delhi on Monday to seek guidance on various issues affecting the state.

“Today I met the National President of @BJP4India and Union Minister @JPNadda ji in Delhi and received his guidance on various subjects.” The meeting aimed to discuss important topics impacting Haryana,” CM Saini said in a post on X.

CM Saini retained key departments, including Home and Finance, as cabinet portfolios were allocated to the Council of Ministers. Saini kept oversight of Home, Finance, Excise and Taxation, Planning, Town and Country Planning, Urban Estates, Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture, Administration of Justice, General Administration, Housing for All, Criminal Investigation (C.I.D.), Personnel and Training, and Law and Legislative departments.

BJP veteran Anil Vij was assigned Energy, Transport, and Labour, and Minister Shruti Choudhry was assigned Women & Child Development, as well as Irrigation & Water Resources.

The BJP is forming its third consecutive government in Haryana after winning 48 out of 90 seats in the assembly elections, while the Congress secured 37 seats. (ANI)
