In a tragic incident in Thane district, Maharashtra, a 16-year-old girl reportedly took her own life after a dispute with her father regarding the downloading of a messaging application on her mobile phone. The incident occurred on Friday night at their residence in Nilje, Dombivli area, according to police sources.
The girl, whose identity has not been disclosed, had downloaded the Snapchat application against her father’s wishes. An official from the Manpada police station stated that her father confronted her about the app, leading to an argument that left the girl upset.
Allegedly distressed by the confrontation, the girl proceeded to hang herself from the ceiling of her bedroom later that night. Her family discovered her lifeless body the following morning.
Upon receiving the information, local authorities promptly responded to the scene. The body was sent for postmortem examination, and a case of accidental death was registered by the police.
