Members of the global elite are indulging in extravagant packages for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics, with some reportedly spending up to $500,000 for exclusive access and experiences, as per recent reports.
GR8 Experience, an international agency specializing in luxury experiences, is offering packages that promise unparalleled access to Olympic events, including meet-and-greets with athletes and VIP access to sought-after competitions such as the men’s 100m finals and the opening ceremony. These packages, priced at $381,600, also include additional perks like private tours of restricted areas like the athletes’ village, exclusive after-hours access to cultural landmarks like the Louvre, and lavish dining experiences at iconic venues like the Palace of Versailles.
Barnabas Carrega, CEO of GR8 Experience, emphasized the uniqueness of the opportunities offered, stating that the company provides access not available to the general public, including exclusive interactions with athletes. While Carrega declined to disclose the names of specific athletes involved, he mentioned past collaborations with renowned sports figures like Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Carrega highlighted the personalized nature of these interactions, with experiences ranging from brief meetings to more immersive engagements, with costs varying accordingly.
Moreover, GR8 Experience claims to offer access to the highly anticipated opening ceremony inside the Trocadéro, overlooking the Eiffel Tower, a privilege not available through official channels. However, the Paris 2024 organizing committee has emphasized that only accredited individuals are authorized to access such events, with any unauthorized resale of hospitality packages considered unlawful. Official hospitality provider On Location reaffirmed its exclusive status and warned against third-party resellers, stating that resold tickets risk cancellation.
The allure of these lavish packages has attracted interest from ultra-high net worth individuals, despite the significant price tags. GR8 Experience has outlined these offerings in a detailed document targeting prospective clients, showcasing a range of experiences and estimated budgets. However, the agency clarified that it does not directly sell Olympic tickets but facilitates experiences around the sporting event.
As anticipation builds for the Paris 2024 Olympics, the demand for exclusive experiences among the super-rich underscores the allure of luxury and exclusivity in the realm of international sports events.
