On Wednesday, imprisoned conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar sent a new letter accusing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of being the ‘mastermind’ behind the extortion of money in jail. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has recently sought permission from Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, Vinai Kumar Saxena, to file a case against Satyendra Jain based on Sukesh’s claims that he was extorted Rs 10 crore by the AAP leader and other prison officials.
Chandrashekhar sent a letter from jail in response to Kejriwal’s call for a CBI investigation. In the letter, he urges Kejriwal to cooperate in the investigation and undergo a narco test. He taunts Kejriwal, stating that the court will determine who the real swindler is. Chandrashekhar alleges that Kejriwal’s three associates are already in jail for corruption, predicting that Kejriwal will soon join them.
The swindler claims to have evidence supporting his accusations and accuses Kejriwal and his associates of sending threats and offers to silence him. There are reports that the CBI has written to the Delhi Lieutenant Governor seeking permission to file an FIR against former Delhi Jail Minister Satyendar Jain and former Jail Director General Sandeep Goyal in connection with extortion from high-profile prisoners, including Chandrashekhar.
Jain is currently in judicial custody for a money laundering case. He is accused of collecting money from both Chandrashekhar and other high-profile prisoners for providing them with security and facilities in jail. The situation remains complex, with ongoing allegations and legal proceedings.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar has a history of making serious allegations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his party. In October of last year, he wrote a letter to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi claiming that Satyendra Jain used to visit him in Tihar Jail and took Rs 10 crore as protection money. Sukesh also alleged that he gave Rs 50 crore to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in exchange for a promised significant role in the party in South India.
This year, Sukesh wrote another letter to the Lieutenant Governor accusing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Minister Satyendar Jain of threatening and mentally harassing him. He claimed that Jain gave him 48 hours to withdraw cases against Kejriwal and himself, destroy evidence, and handed over screenshots, chats, and voice recordings. Sukesh also alleged that Kejriwal and Jain threatened him and asked him to retract statements made before the media and a high-level committee.
In his letter, Sukesh accused Satyendra Jain of offering him a seat in the Karnataka elections and a mining contract in Punjab through Jail Superintendent Rajkumar on December 31, 2022. He also mentioned continuous harassment by jail officials and staff.
Sukesh further alleged that Kejriwal and other AAP leaders, including Sisodia, demanded a commission in the supply of tablets, making these claims in 2021 through his lawyer Anant Malik.
While Sukesh’s allegations have been refuted, he claims to have evidence supporting his claims. The ongoing accusations and legal proceedings suggest a complex situation, and only the investigating agencies will determine the truth behind Sukesh’s claims and whether there is any wrongdoing on Kejriwal’s part. The continuous accusations against Kejriwal and his party members, along with ministers facing legal issues, raise concerns about the situation.
