New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA Authority)
Location: Noida
In line with the directives of the Chief Executive Officer, the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA Authority) is continuously implementing an intensive sanitation drive across various roads, sectors, villages, and major drains in the Noida region. The comprehensive campaign focuses on daily disposal of garbage, removal of floating material and silt from drains, thorough cleaning of nalas, and ensuring door-to-door garbage collection in every sector and village.
As part of this initiative, a detailed inspection of sanitation arrangements was conducted on 5 February 2026 in Sector-85 and Ilabans–Yakubpur village areas. During the inspection, several locations were found with accumulated garbage heaps, while drains were observed to be overflowing and choked with floating waste and silt, obstructing proper water flow.
The inspection further revealed extensive unhygienic conditions along main roads, service roads, and footpaths in the concerned areas. Footpath pipelines and K.C. drains were not being cleaned on a regular basis, leading to accumulation of sludge, foul smell, and inconvenience to pedestrians. Such conditions were found to be in clear violation of prescribed sanitation standards and posed potential health risks to residents and commuters.
In view of the serious lapses observed during the inspection, strict action was taken against the responsible agencies. A penalty of ₹50,000 was imposed on M/s New Modern Enterprises for failure to ensure proper cleaning of K.C. drains and footpaths. Additionally, due to the deployment of an inadequate number of door-to-door garbage collection vehicles, resulting in widespread filth in the sector and village areas, a penalty of ₹1,00,000 was imposed on M/s AG Enviro Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd.
Furthermore, the concerned Health Inspector (Public Health) was issued a formal warning for insufficient supervision of sanitation activities. Disciplinary action was also initiated against the supervisor deployed in the area, Shri Manoj, with orders issued to withhold his salary for one month due to negligence in duty.
The NOIDA Authority has reiterated that any form of negligence in sanitation work will not be tolerated. Ensuring cleanliness across all sectors, villages, and public spaces remains a top priority of the Authority. Surprise inspections will continue, and accountability will be strictly enforced among contractors and officials to maintain high sanitation standards.
The Authority has also appealed to residents to actively cooperate in maintaining cleanliness by disposing of waste responsibly, using designated door-to-door collection services, and avoiding littering in public areas. Collective efforts by the administration and citizens are essential for building a clean, healthy, and sustainable Noida.
