The Special Task Force of Gurugram police has apprehended 5 shooters associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara gang, officials confirmed on Monday.
During the operation, law enforcement recovered 5 automatic pistols, including 3 foreign-made Glock pistol 9mm valued at over ₹10 lakh, along with 55 live cartridges from the possession of the arrested individuals.
The arrested suspects, identified as Dinesh alias Deenu, Jagdish alias Jaggu, Vishnu, Sagar, and Pradeep, have been produced in court and subsequently taken into a four-day police remand.
According to police sources, all 5 shooters were operating under the directives of notorious gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara.
The arrest operation commenced with the apprehension of Dinesh from Farrukhnagar on Saturday. Subsequently, based on his disclosure, 4 other suspects were apprehended from Abohar near Fazilka in Punjab on Sunday night.
Authorities disclosed that a joint operation involving Delhi police, Nuh police, and the STF had previously led to the arrest of two shooters belonging to the same gang after a brief encounter in Nuh just five days ago.
STF DSP Preet Pal Singh Sangwan revealed that intelligence indicated Dinesh’s connection with gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara, as he was allegedly planning to expand their influence in the Gurugram area.
Following Dinesh’s arrest, further investigations revealed his involvement in preparing a hideout for Lawrence gang shooters, leading to the identification and subsequent apprehension of the 4 other suspects.
Authorities are currently interrogating the arrested individuals, who allegedly disclosed plans for carrying out serious crimes in areas spanning Haryana, Rajasthan, and Punjab, as directed by the gang leaders.
