A Special Investigation Team (SIT) overseeing the probe into the sex scandal involving Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna and his father HD Revanna, arrived at the residence of Revanna in Holenarasipura, Hassan, accompanied by local law enforcement officials to conduct a spot Mahazar on Saturday.
The scandal erupted when a victim accused HD Revanna and Prajwal Revanna of sexually harassing her at the latter’s residence in Holenarasipura.
Video footage allegedly depicting JD(S) chief HD Deve Gowda’s grandson, Prajwal Revanna, engaging in sexual activities with multiple women, including government employees, circulated in Hassan district. In response, the Karnataka government initiated a special investigation team to delve into the matter.
Prajwal Revanna, aged 33, who also serves as the NDA candidate from the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, faced suspension from the Janata Dal (Secular) party following the scandal. Moreover, the SIT, tasked with investigating the case, issued a lookout notice against the incumbent JD(S) MP.
In response to the unfolding events, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a letter to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, urging support for the victims and emphasizing the need to hold all responsible parties accountable. Gandhi also made a veiled remark about the Prime Minister and Home Minister’s apparent support for Revanna.
