In a tragic incident unfolding in Mumbai, the son of a prominent Shiv Sena leader, Mihir Shah, has been linked to a fatal BMW crash that claimed the life of a woman in Worli. CCTV footage capturing key moments before the accident has surfaced, intensifying the search for Mihir, who remains at large.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning when a speeding BMW, allegedly driven by Mihir Shah under the influence of alcohol, collided with a scooter. The crash resulted in the death of Kaveri Nakhwa, 45, who was riding pillion with her husband, Pradip, on their way from Mazagaon Docks to Worli Koliwada.

Initial investigations revealed that Mihir Shah had earlier been seen leaving a pub in a Mercedes with friends before switching to the BMW, with his driver Rajrishi Bidawat as a passenger. The BMW, registered under Mihir’s father Rajesh Shah’s name, was reportedly involved in the fatal collision.

Following the incident, Mihir Shah and Rajrishi Bidawat fled the scene, abandoning the car in Kala Nagar, Bandra East, and attempting to evade capture by using separate modes of transport. While Bidawat was apprehended later that evening in Borivali, Mihir remains elusive despite intensive police efforts.

Law enforcement authorities have launched a search operation and issued a lookout notice for Mihir Shah, suspecting that his girlfriend may have aided in his evasion. The case has been filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, encompassing charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rash driving, and tampering with evidence, along with provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, also a leader of Shiv Sena, has assured the public of swift and impartial action, emphasizing that justice will be served irrespective of the accused’s background or connections. This incident echoes a similar tragic event in Pune involving an influential realtor’s minor son earlier this year, underscoring concerns about accountability and road safety.

Authorities continue to urge anyone with information regarding Mihir Shah’s whereabouts to come forward, as the investigation into this heartbreaking incident unfolds.
