Opting to field first, the USA saw Saurabh Netravalkar deliver impressive bowling figures of 4-0-18-2, claiming the crucial wickets of Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed. His efforts helped restrict Pakistan to 159 for 7. Saurabh Netravalkar, born in Mumbai on October 16, 1991, has had an unconventional journey blending sports and technology. He represented India in the U-19 World Cup in 2010 alongside players like KL Rahul, Jaydev Unadkat, and Mayank Agarwal. Facing limited opportunities in Indian cricket, Saurabh Netravalkar moved to the USA to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science at Cornell University. Post-graduation, he secured a job with Oracle while continuing his cricketing career.
In 2019, Saurabh Netravalkar debuted internationally for the USA and quickly ascended to the captaincy. He has excelled as an opening bowler, effective with both the new ball and in the death overs. His participation in the Washington Freedom team during Major League Cricket’s inaugural edition further honed his skills.
