Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has once again been targeted with a death threat, allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A recent WhatsApp message sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police has demanded ₹5 crore from the actor to “end the enmity” with the gang. The chilling message warned that if the sum is not paid, Khan’s fate would be worse than that of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was murdered recently, allegedly by the Bishnoi gang.
The threatening message, reportedly read, “Don’t take this lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay ₹5 crore. If the money is not given, his condition will be worse than Baba Siddique’s.” In response, the Mumbai Police have escalated their efforts to track down the origins of the message and have increased security around Khan’s Bandra residence. The actor has already been on high alert due to previous threats, and this latest development has intensified concerns for his safety.
This threat comes in the wake of a major breakthrough for law enforcement. On the day prior to the threat, Navi Mumbai Police arrested Sukha, alias Sukhbir Balbir Singh, a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, in Haryana’s Panipat. Singh has been linked to a plot to assassinate Khan. According to police sources, Singh was in direct contact with his handler, Dogar, a Pakistani-based figure, to coordinate the attack on the actor. The gang had allegedly planned to use high-powered firearms, including AK-47s, M16s, and AK-92s, smuggled from Pakistan.
Singh’s arrest is part of a broader investigation into the Bishnoi gang’s conspiracy against Salman Khan. Earlier this year, the Navi Mumbai Police registered an FIR against 18 members of the gang for plotting to kill the actor. This followed an incident where gang members fired outside Khan’s Bandra residence, further heightening security concerns.
The case involves high-profile criminals, including Lawrence Bishnoi himself, his brother Anmol, Sampat Nehra, Goldie Brar, and Rohit Godhara. The ongoing investigation has uncovered detailed surveillance operations conducted by the gang. Between 60 and 70 operatives were reportedly deployed to monitor Khan’s movements at his Bandra residence, Panvel farmhouse, and shooting locations, even recruiting minors as potential sharpshooters.
Khan’s feud with Lawrence Bishnoi stems from the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, where the Bishnoi community reveres the blackbuck. Bishnoi, currently imprisoned, has allegedly harbored a grudge against Khan since the incident, making the actor a target for revenge. This latest threat adds to a series of incidents where Khan’s life has been at risk.
