The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has come under fire from its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), following a stellar performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections. RSS leader Indresh Kumar attributed the BJP’s failure to secure a majority to “arrogance.”
During an event in Kanota near Jaipur on Thursday, Indresh Kumar remarked, “Those who did bhakti of Lord Ram gradually became arrogant. That party was declared the biggest party but were stopped at 241 by Lord Ram due to arrogance.” His comments appeared to be a pointed criticism of the BJP, which won 240 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, marking its worst performance since 2014.
Indresh Kumar also took aim at the opposition INDIA bloc, labeling them “anti-Ram.” Without explicitly naming the alliance, he said, “And those who had no faith in Ram, they together were stopped at 234. God’s justice is true and enjoyable.” The INDIA bloc secured 234 seats in the election.
These remarks come on the heels of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent address, where he emphasized the importance of humility in public service. Bhagwat stated, “A true sevak maintains dignity. He follows the decorum while working. He does not have the arrogance to say ‘I did this work’. Only that person can be called a true sevak.”
Mohan Bhagwat further highlighted the need for modesty and goodwill towards all, underscoring the principles of non-violence and truth.
