Robert Vadra, businessman and brother-in-law of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, has expressed his belief that he is being unfairly targeted by investigative agencies due to his association with the Gandhi family. Robert Vadra’s comments come amid his ongoing questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case linked to a 2008 land deal in Haryana. He further revealed plans to enter politics, claiming he has been working with the public since 1999.
Robert Vadra’s allegations against the government reflect his frustration with the legal proceedings he is currently facing. He stated that his family, including his mother-in-law Sonia Gandhi and his wife Priyanka Gandhi, are all victims of the government’s tactics, suggesting that their positions as prominent figures in the opposition make them targets for the ruling BJP. According to Robert Vadra, the constant scrutiny only strengthens his resolve to fight against these charges. “The more you trouble us, the stronger we become,” he said, emphasizing his determination to continue his fight.
Robert Vadra was questioned for a second consecutive day on Wednesday by the ED in a case related to a land deal in Manesar-Shikohpur, Haryana, from 2008. This land deal involved his company, Skylight Hospitality Pvt Ltd, which purchased land from Onkareshwar Properties and later sold it to real estate major DLF for a substantial profit. The case became controversial after the land transaction was scrutinized and later cancelled by Haryana’s Directorate of Land Consolidation in 2012. Despite this, the Haryana government, led by the BJP, has cleared Robert Vadra of any wrongdoing, which he points out in his defense.
In his statements, Robert Vadra highlighted how the government has been misusing probe agencies to intimidate those who oppose its policies. He believes that the pressure from agencies would be lessened if he were aligned with the BJP. He also asserted that the charges against him were politically motivated, and he has answered the same questions multiple times over the years. Robert Vadra’s remarks paint a picture of a man determined to fight against what he views as a campaign of harassment aimed at discrediting him and his family.
As Robert Vadra continues to battle these charges, he revealed his plans to transition into politics. He expressed his growing role as a public figure, almost like an activist, and indicated that his next step would be to join politics to bring about change. Despite the legal and political hurdles, Robert Vadra remains committed to his cause and believes that the truth will ultimately prevail.
