Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, expressed his belief that the ongoing elections would fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s desire for the disbandment of the Congress party. While campaigning in Madhya Pradesh, Singh accused the Congress of aiming to confiscate citizens’ hard-earned assets.
Rajnath Singh criticized the Congress for allegedly misleading the public and attempting to garner support by proposing reservations based on religion, a move he claimed eroded the party’s existence over time. He specifically addressed Prime Minister Modi’s accusation that the Congress intended to introduce reservations for Muslims in India.
Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s pledge of a “wealth X-ray,” Singh warned that such policies would lead to financial stagnation and asserted that the Congress’s ideology suffered from “mental paralysis.” He noted a decline in voter turnout for the opposition party in the initial election phases, attributing it to disillusionment among its supporters.
Responding to inquiries about the Congress manifesto, Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of justice and humanity over caste, creed, or religion in politics.
Rajnath Singh stressed that politics should not be based on caste, creed, or religion but on principles of justice and humanity. He accused the Congress of consistently employing divisive tactics for political gains since independence.
