Qatar has demonstrated its commitment to fostering strong ties with Kenya by donating sports equipment used in the historic FIFA World Cup 2022 to the East African nation.
Qatari Ambassador to Kenya, Mohammed bin Mutair Al Anazi, personally delivered the sports equipment to a representative of the Kenyan government at the port of Mombasa on Monday, February 26.

In an official statement, the Qatari Foreign Ministry emphasized the significance of the FIFA World Cup, not only for Qatar but for the entire Arab world.
“The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 marked a milestone in the history of the State of Qatar and the Arab world, and left a social, humanitarian, economic and environmental legacy for the country and the region, and established new standards regarding sustainable planning and implementation of major events and ensuring that they leave a positive impact locally and internationally for decades to come,” the Qatari Foreign Ministry said.
Moreover, it is pertinent to note that the donation by Qatar underscores the deep-rooted mutual respect and understanding between two nations. Both nations represent their respective Arab and African perspectives and share common ground on various bilateral, regional, and international issues of interest.
