Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have reiterated their call for uninterrupted humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. The call was made during a high-level Foreign Ministers meeting between the two Gulf nations. Leading the meeting from Qatar’s side was Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, while Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan successfully led the UAE delegation.
The meeting took place on the margins of the UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s official visit to Qatar. In a statement released, the Qatari Foreign Ministry noted that both leaders discussed not only the bilateral aspects of their relationship but also regional and global issues of significance.
According to the statement, the leaders deliberated on cooperation between their countries and ways to bolster and cultivate these ties. They also addressed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, emphasizing the urgent need to expedite the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip without encountering obstacles.
Furthermore, the high-level talks encompassed discussions on the escalation of violence in the region and its implications for regional and global stability. The Qatari Foreign Ministry underscored Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani’s emphasis during the meeting on the importance of coordinated regional efforts to tackle challenges and achieve security and peace in the region.
In a parallel statement, the UAE Foreign Ministry highlighted the bilateral discussions between the two leaders, stating, “Abdullah bin Zayed and @MBA_AlThani_, discuss the brotherly relations between 🇦🇪 & 🇶🇦, and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields to support the development paths of the two countries.”
