Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine, Riad al-Maliki, expressed gratitude to Qatar during his meeting with Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation, Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater on Monday, February 26. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the Human Rights Council’s 55th session at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva.
Al-Maliki thanked Qatar for its mediation efforts to end the war in Gaza and for its steadfast support for the rights of the Palestinian people. He particularly appreciated Qatar’s advocacy during its oral argument before the International Court of Justice in the advisory sessions on Palestine.

The discussions between the two officials delved into the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories. They focused on regional and international efforts aimed at achieving an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and halting violations across all Palestinian territories.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the dire humanitarian situation, especially with the onset of the month of Ramadan. Al-Maliki and Al Khater also discussed the Israeli occupation’s oppressive measures against worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque and its blatant violations in the West Bank.
Meanwhile, on the margin of the High-Level Segment in Geneva, the Qatari Minister for International Cooperation also met with Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya.

Their talks focused on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, with a primary emphasis on regional and international efforts for an immediate ceasefire in the Strip and the need to resume support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
The two ministers, during the talk also touched on the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Sudan and the need to intensify relief efforts and unify endeavors aimed at defusing the war and resolving the Sudanese crisis through peaceful and diplomatic means.
