Gautam Buddh Nagar, May 6, 2026:
A review meeting of the Petition Committee of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council was held in Gautam Buddh Nagar under the chairmanship of Committee Chairman Ashok Agarwal to discuss and review pending petitions related to the district.

The meeting was organised at the guest house auditorium of Gautam Buddha University, where six identified issues and petitions concerning various departments were reviewed in detail. At the beginning of the programme, the District Magistrate welcomed the chairman by presenting a bouquet, shawl, memento, and an ODOP (One District One Product) gift.

During the meeting, petitions and grievances related to the Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, District Panchayat, and Panchayati Raj Department were reviewed comprehensively.

Addressing the officials, Ashok Agarwal stated that members of the public approach elected representatives with their grievances, which are then brought before the legislative system through petitions. He emphasized that resolving such petitions in a timely and efficient manner is the responsibility of the committee and the concerned departments.

The chairman directed all departmental officials to treat every petition with seriousness and priority and ensure speedy disposal of cases so that citizens receive timely relief and benefits. He stressed the importance of accountability and prompt action in matters related to public grievances.

He further instructed officials that once cases presented before the Petition Committee are resolved, immediate updates should be provided to the committee so that disposed cases can be removed from the list of pending matters without delay.

The District Magistrate assured the chairman that all instructions issued during the meeting would be implemented effectively and that departments would work in coordination to ensure timely resolution of petitions.

The meeting also focused on improving administrative responsiveness and strengthening communication between departments handling public grievances. Officials discussed measures to expedite processing of pending matters and improve monitoring systems related to petition disposal.

Several senior officials and representatives attended the meeting, including members of the UP Legislative Council Petition Committee Rishi Pal Arora and Shri Chand Sharma. Senior district administration and police officials were also present.

Among those attending the meeting were the District Magistrate, Chief Development Officer, senior Secretariat officials, Additional Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar, ACEO Noida Vandana Tripathi, ACEO Greater Noida Sumit Yadav, Chief Panchayat Officer Priyanka Chaturvedi, and Dadri Block Development Officer Neha, along with other concerned officers from related departments.

Officials expressed confidence that the directions issued during the review meeting would help accelerate the disposal of petitions and improve grievance redressal mechanisms in Gautam Buddh Nagar.

The review meeting highlighted the state government’s focus on strengthening administrative accountability and ensuring that public grievances submitted through democratic institutions are addressed efficiently and transparently.
