  • Nalapat criticizes Pakistan’s misreading of India’s military response.

In a sharp analysis of the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, Professor Madhav Das Nalapat criticized Pakistan’s long-held misconceptions about India’s military capabilities and its leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking on the current state of affairs after India’s retaliatory actions following Operation Sindoor, Madhav Das Nalapat made it clear that the stereotype of India as a weak nation unable to fight back had been thoroughly shattered. He stressed that Pakistan’s military leadership had misjudged India’s resolve, citing their belief that the Hindu community was incapable of standing up for itself.

Pakistan’s Deep State and Hindutva Misunderstanding

Madhav Das Nalapat’s comments were scathing as he called Pakistan’s military establishment “a bunch of liars and cheats,” emphasizing that the leadership at Pakistan’s General Headquarters (GHQ) was hard-wired to hate India. He pointed out that decades of Pakistani indoctrination had led them to believe that the Hindu community was incapable of responding to aggression, a view he dismissed as fundamentally wrong, especially under the leadership of India’s current Prime Minister.

Further, he criticized the actions of Pakistan’s National Command Authority and the country’s nuclear posturing, which he called “meaningless” and nothing more than “hot air.” Madhav Das Nalapat argued that the posturing was not aimed at India but rather at international powers like the United States. This dismissal of Pakistan’s military maneuvers highlights his belief that India’s current responses are far more significant in reshaping the regional dynamics.

A Shift in Regional Dynamics and Global Complicity

Madhav Das Nalapat also expressed his frustration with international actors, particularly U.S. politicians like Marco Rubio, who, according to him, did not fully understand the situation in South Asia. He claimed that Pakistan had essentially become a proxy for China, which had only deepened its alignment with anti-India interests.

In addition, Madhav Das Nalapat strongly criticized international bodies like the IMF for their financial support to Pakistan, which, in his view, was inadvertently fueling terrorism. He stated that the loans were not meant to help Pakistan’s civilian government but were enabling a terror machine.

As the tensions continue, Madhav Das Nalapat concluded that Pakistan’s future was bleak. If the situation prolonged, he warned that Pakistan’s economy could collapse rapidly. With the geopolitical environment in flux and Pakistan continuing to struggle under its current regime, Madhav Das Nalapat’s words reflect a grim outlook for the country’s future, especially if India continues to assert its military strength.
