As Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term in office marks its 100th day on Tuesday, the BJP and various ministries are gearing up to present their achievements. This milestone coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 74th birthday, adding further significance to the day. Union Ministers, including Home Minister Amit Shah and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, are scheduled to address the media at a press conference to outline the accomplishments of the government during this period.
Additionally, BJP president JP Nadda will inaugurate a blood donation drive under ‘Seva Pakhwada’ and unveil an exhibition on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life at the BJP headquarters, highlighting his journey and contributions. The Ministry for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, led by Rajiv Ranjan Singh, will hold its first press conference to discuss the impact of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, a Rs 6,000 crore initiative focused on boosting fishery production and exports. Union Minister for MSME, Jitan Ram Manjhi, will also share updates on his ministry’s work.
The Prime Minister NarendraModi government was sworn in for its third term on June 9, 2024, after the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) narrowly secured a majority in the Lok Sabha elections. Over the past 100 days, the government has prioritized infrastructure development, approving projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore. These include significant initiatives like the Polavaram irrigation project in Andhra Pradesh, with roads, ports, and airports being major areas of focus.
In a recent address in Ahmedabad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on the opposition’s criticisms, stating that despite being mocked, he remained focused on fulfilling the government’s agenda. He emphasized that he chose not to respond to insults and ensured that the objectives for the first 100 days were achieved.
However, the BJP has faced its share of challenges during this period. The government retracted several decisions, such as the controversial draft of the Broadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill, which was pulled back following concerns over potential government control of online content. The withdrawal of an advertisement for lateral entry into top government posts also attracted criticism. Congress leader Supriya Shrinate labeled Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “weak Prime Minister” who is overly reliant on allies, highlighting what she described as frequent U-turns in government policy.
