Prime Minister Narendra Modi captivated a crowd of 40,000 at the ‘AHLAN MODI’ event held in his honor by the Indian community in the UAE. The gathering, representing diverse communities from across the 7 Emirates, including Emiratis, welcomed the Prime Minister with exceptional warmth at the Zayed Sports City stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Addressing the audience with a namaskar, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude for the remarkable contributions of the Indian diaspora in strengthening bilateral relations between India and the UAE.
“Today’s memory will be with me forever because I have come here to meet members of my family. I have come here with a message from over 140 crore Indians that the country is proud of you,” PM Modi said.
“You have scripted history by coming in such large numbers here. You may have come from different parts of the UAE and from different states of India, but everyone’s hearts are connected,” Modi added.
During the address, PM Modi emphasized the deep-rooted friendship shared between the two nations and hailed the historic moment as a testament to the enduring Bharat-UAE friendship.
Prime Minister Modi extended heartfelt appreciation to the Rulers and the Government of the UAE for their unwavering support and care extended to the Indian community, especially during challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
He underscored India’s vision for progress, envisioning the nation as the world’s third-largest economy by 2030 on its path to becoming a developed country, Viksit Bharat, by 2047. Additionally, he emphasized India’s role as a global partner, contributing to global progress and well-being as a “Vishwabandhu.”
He said, “Today, every single Indian’s aim is to make India a developed nation by 2047. It’s our India that is witnessing robust economic growth and it is our India which is leading the global charts on several fronts.”
It is pertinent to note that the UAE, home to approximately 3.5 million Indian nationals, holds the largest population of Indian citizens worldwide. The grand ‘AHLAN MODI’ event, which had been meticulously planned for months, served as a poignant celebration of the enduring ties between India and the UAE and the invaluable contributions of the Indian diaspora to both nations’ prosperity and progress.
