New Delhi, August 24 : After a successful landing on the moon, Chandrayaan-3 is now engaged in its mission. The Pragyan rover came out of the Vikram lander a few hours after landing on the lunar surface at 6.45 p.m. on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) told on X that ‘Pragyan Rover has started roaming on the moon. Pragyan Rover, prepared in India and made for the moon, started roaming on the moon in the morning.

After the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 late on Wednesday night, the lander was connected to ISRO’s data centre through the propulsion module. After landing, the lander also sent the first picture of the moon. Shortly after this, the Pragyan rover Vikram came out of the lander. Now for 14 days, Lander Vikram and Rover Pragyan will explore the lunar surface at different levels, which will be important in the future in the search for life on the Moon.

What will Pragyan and Vikram do in the next 14 days?

The PragyanPragyanhas two payloads, i.e., instruments that will study the quantity and quality of chemicals present on the surface of the moon and search for minerals like aluminium, silicon, potassium, calcium, tin, and iron.

At the same time, Vikram Lander will also start its work, in which four payloads are engaged. Vikram will investigate the density and changes in plasma particles coming from the sun on the lunar surface. Also, the temperature probe on the lunar surface will try to understand the dynamics of the moon with seismic activities.
