Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Adampur Air Force Base in Punjab delivered a powerful rebuttal to Pakistan’s claims that it had struck and destroyed India’s advanced S-400 air defence system during the conflict that followed Operation Sindoor. By sharing photos with the missile system clearly visible in the background and interacting with air warriors on the ground, PM Narendra Modi reaffirmed India’s military readiness and exposed Pakistan’s disinformation.

PM’s Visit Counters Disinformation
On Tuesday morning, PM Narendra Modi visited the Adampur airbase where he met Indian Air Force personnel and praised their courage and resolve. In a series of photos shared on social media, he was seen saluting air warriors with an S-400 missile system distinctly present behind him—a visual that directly undermines Pakistan’s narrative. Pakistan had claimed through state-run media and international allies like China’s Global Times that a strike from JF-17 jets had destroyed the system during cross-border hostilities. The Indian armed forces and defence spokespersons quickly dismissed these reports, labelling them “completely false” and a desperate attempt at psychological warfare.

PM Narendra Modi’s presence at the base was more than ceremonial. He was briefed on operational developments by Indian Air Force officials and emphasized the importance of readiness in the face of evolving regional threats. His statement on X read: “It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces.”

Operation Sindoor and India’s Strategic Messaging
The visit came just days after India concluded Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed. The operation—executed on May 7—targeted terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, destroying 11 military air bases and eliminating over 100 terrorists with precise, coordinated strikes by air, land, and sea forces. Importantly, the Indian side maintained careful restraint to avoid civilian casualties.

During his national address a day before the Adampur visit, PM Narendra Modi made it clear that India sees no distinction between terror masterminds and the governments that sponsor them. His message reinforced India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.

Apart from Adampur, the Prime Minister has also visited Ambala and Pathankot airbases in recent days to interact with personnel involved in Operation Sindoor, boosting morale and reaffirming the nation’s gratitude to its armed forces.
