Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation after ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s robust response to the Pahalgam attack, asserting that the operation marks a decisive shift in India’s anti-terror strategy. He emphasized that Operation Sindoor is not a one-off exercise but a permanent policy against terrorism, indicating that future attacks will be met with stern military retaliation. Narendra Modi also made it clear that India will not tolerate nuclear blackmail, sending a strong message to Pakistan regarding the consequences of harboring terrorism.

PM Narendra Modi’s Address on Operation Sindoor

In his 22-minute address, PM Narendra Modi highlighted that Operation Sindoor was India’s new policy against terrorism, signaling a new normal in the country’s approach to security. He underlined that the offensive against Pakistan’s terror infrastructure had only been paused, not ended, and that India was prepared for future military action depending on Pakistan’s behavior. His words reflected a strategic shift aimed at decisively tackling terrorism and dismantling terror camps across the border.

India’s Military Retaliation

The Prime Minister’s remarks followed India’s military strikes on 11 Pakistani military sites and airbases, a response to Pakistan’s persistent support for terrorism. India’s decisive actions have made it clear that any future terrorist activities originating from Pakistan will invite retaliation, treating such acts as an “act of war.” PM Narendra Modi also emphasized that there would be no distinction between government-sponsored terrorism and other forms of terrorist activities. The message was loud and clear: Pakistan must dismantle its terrorist infrastructure or face continued military consequences.

Terrorism and Nuclear Blackmail

Addressing Pakistan’s nuclear deterrence, PM Narendra Modi warned that India would not tolerate any form of “nuclear blackmail”. His stance was firm: terrorism and dialogue cannot go hand in hand, and any future discussions with Pakistan would focus solely on terrorism, specifically Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). PM Narendra Modi’s strong rhetoric highlighted India’s resolve to maintain peace while ensuring that terror cannot be used as a bargaining chip in international relations.

On the ceasefire that followed, PM Narendra Modi explained that Pakistan was compelled to seek a halt to military action after India inflicted severe damage on Pakistani military sites. Within the first three days of India’s retaliation, Pakistan was caught off guard, leading to a communication with India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO). By that time, India had dismantled significant portions of the terrorist infrastructure.

The ceasefire agreement reached on May 10 marks a brief lull in the ongoing tensions, but India’s message remains clear: any future terror attacks will not be tolerated, and Pakistan must take responsibility for its actions. The ceasefire followed extensive strikes across critical areas, including key airports like Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar, Chandigarh International Airport, and Ludhiana Airport, which were central to the logistical operations during the conflict.
