Prime Minister Narendra Modi exercised his franchise this morning at a polling station located in a school in Ahmedabad, marking the 3rd phase of voting for the Lok Sabha polls. The Nishan Higher Secondary School, designated as a polling booth, hosted the Prime Minister’s voting.
Arriving at the polling station a little after 7:30 am, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by Union Minister Amit Shah, and together they proceeded to the booth. A sizable crowd had gathered outside, eagerly awaiting the Prime Minister’s arrival, cheering and raising slogans as he made his way.
During his journey to the voting booth, Prime Minister Modi graciously signed an autograph for a supporter on a portrait of himself drawn by the individual.
Addressing the public outside the polling booth, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the significance of voting in a democracy, urging citizens to participate actively in the electoral process. He highlighted the importance of civic duty, stating, “There is great importance of ‘daan’ in our country, and in the same spirit, the countrymen should vote as much as possible. Four rounds of voting are still ahead.”
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi expressed concern for the well-being of media personnel covering the elections, advising them to prioritize their health and stay hydrated.
Union Minister Amit Shah, a contestant from Gandhinagar, later cast his vote alongside his family.The voting process is currently underway in 93 constituencies across 10 states and a Union Territory in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
