Superstar Rajinikanth recently underwent an elective medical procedure at a private hospital in Chennai, where a stent was placed in his aorta to treat a swelling in a blood vessel near his heart. The 72-year-old actor’s condition is reported to be stable, and he is expected to be discharged within the next few days. The procedure, conducted on October 1, was a precautionary measure to address the health issue, and doctors have reassured fans that Rajinikanth is recovering well.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally reached out to the actor’s wife, Latha Rajinikanth, to inquire about the superstar’s health. Tamil Nadu BJP State President K Annamalai confirmed the conversation via a post on X (formerly Twitter). In his post, Annamalai shared a photo of the Prime Minister and Rajinikanth, stating, “Our Hon. PM Narendra Modi Thiru @narendramodi avl spoke telephonically to Smt. Latha Rajinikanth avl today to inquire about the health of our Super Star Thiru @rajinikanth avl. Hon PM Narendra Modi was informed about the well-being of Thiru Rajinikanth avl post-surgery & Hon PM Narendra Modi wished him a speedy recovery.”
The medical bulletin issued by Apollo Hospitals confirmed that the non-surgical procedure was successful and Rajinikanth is in stable condition. “He should be home in two days,” the statement said, providing relief to the actor’s legion of fans. The procedure was a preventive measure, and his doctors remain optimistic about his swift recovery.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and long-time friend and fellow actor Kamal Haasan also extended their well-wishes to Rajinikanth. Both leaders took to social media, expressing their hopes for his quick recovery. Actor Vijay, chief of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, also shared his prayers for the superstar’s health. Posting in Tamil, Vijay wrote, “I pray to God for the full recovery of Superstar Mr Rajinikanth, who is admitted to a hospital. I wish he recovers soon and returns home.”
Despite the recent procedure, Rajinikanth has remained active in his film career. The actor is set to appear in his upcoming movie Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, which is scheduled for release on October 10. He is also working on his next project, Coolie, currently being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Fans eagerly await the superstar’s return to the silver screen, buoyed by the encouraging news of his recovery.
