New Delhi [India], June 13 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Pema Khandu on taking oath as Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister and wished his government success in developing the state at “an even faster pace.”

He further congratulated others who took oaths as ministers in the state.

Taking to social media platform X, he wrote, “Congratulations to Pema Khandu Ji on taking the oath as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. I would also like to congratulate all those who took the oath as ministers.

“My best wishes to them for their future endeavours in serving the people. This team will ensure that the state develops at an even faster pace,” he wrote further.

Khandu took oath as the chief minister of the State for the third term consecutive term.

The swearing-in ceremony held at DK State Convention Centre in Itanagar was attended by Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Kiren Rijiju, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Khandu, 44, became Chief Minister for the first time in 2016.

He was re-elected as leader of the BJP Legislature Party in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, paving the way for him to be sworn in as the Chief Minister for the third straight term.

Chowna Mein took the oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for his second consecutive term.

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lieutenant General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik (retd.) administered the oath of office to the ministers. A total of 11 MLAs, including the Chief Minister and his deputy, took the oath of office today in the Arunachal Pradesh assembly.

The BJP won 46 seats in the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh assembly in the elections held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha election.

BJP won ten seats unopposed in the state before the elections were held. (ANI)
