Nisha Dahiya, a bronze medalist at the world U-23 level, secured the quota by defeating Alexandra Anghel of Romania with a score of 8-4 in the semi-finals. Competing against some of the world’s top wrestlers at the World Olympic Qualifiers in Istanbul, Turkey, Nisha Dahiya showcased her dedication and hard work in the sport.

Nisha Dahiya’s triumph marks a historic moment for Indian wrestling, as it is the first time India will have five female wrestlers representing the country at the Olympics. The previous record was set at Tokyo 2020, with four female wrestlers. Alongside Nisha Dahiya, other Indian wrestlers who have secured quotas for Paris 2024 include Vinesh Phogat (50kg), Antim Panghal (53kg), Anshu Malik (57kg), and Reetika Hooda (76kg).
