Samba, 9 September (H.S): To eradicate the menace of Drugs from the society and take stringent action against Drug Peddlers within district, Kathua Police today recovered Approx. 01 kg Ganja like narcotics in the JD of PS Kathua, 01 Narco- Smuggler arrested and narcotics substance got seized on the spot.
Police team led by Insp. Sudhir Sadhotra SHO PS Kathua assisted by PSI Arfan Chandel under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua Sh. Manjeet Singh during routine naka/patrolling in its jurisdictional area noticed the movement of one suspicious person who was roaming under suspicious circumstances.During checking approx. 01 Kg Ganja-like narcotics was recovered from the illegal possession of said person namely Kameshwar Verma S/o Mukesh Kumar Verma R/o Bilaspur Chattisgarh A/P Karan Nagar Ward No. 04 Kathua. Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance i.e. approx. 01 kg Ganja was seized and one person was arrested. On this a case FIR No. 389/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kathua Further investigation is underway.
The swift action by Kathua Police has been applauded by the General Public. SSP Kathua Shivdeep Singh Jamwal JKPS said that the strict & legal action against Drug Peddlers will continue in future also.
