New Delhi [India], September 3 (ANI): In the fray of Delhi University Students’ Union elections, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on Wednesday organised the “Save DU March” at the Arts Faculty, Delhi University, with the powerful slogan “Hum Badlenge DU,” stated a release.

The march, led by NSUI National President Varun Choudhary, witnessed massive participation of thousands of DU students who raised their voices for dignity, equality, and opportunities for all.

Addressing the students, NSUI National President Varun Choudhary stated, “Delhi University deserves dignity, equality, and opportunities for every student. NSUI stands strong for menstrual leave, safe campuses, affordable hostels, and fair scholarships. We will continue to fight until DU becomes a space of respect and justice, where no student is left behind.”

The main demands by NSUI include 12 days of menstrual leave per semester, better infrastructure and facilities for all students, free metro passes for all students, a violence-free campus, safer spaces for women and marginalised students, and a halt to RSS-backed, unqualified teacher appointments.

Choudhary further stated that NSUI was committed to implementing the best practices in Delhi University.

“NSUI-led DUSU gave their best in the current tenure. NSUI fought successfully for implementing menstrual leave in Panjab University, and we are committed to doing the same in Delhi University,” Choudhary told.

The “Save DU March” sent a strong message of student unity and fight for Student issues. The overwhelming turnout demonstrated the trust of Delhi University students in NSUI’s vision for a safer, fairer, and inclusive campus.

With this momentum, NSUI will clean sweep (4-0) victory in the upcoming DUSU elections, ensuring student rights remain the central agenda of university governance. (ANI)
