Nagpur:-, 3 March The interim report of Backward Class Commission on OBC reservation, has been rejected by the Supreme Court on Thursday.
With rejection of the report reservation for OBC in the coming Local Self Government elections is not possible.
The Apex Court has stated in its verdict that political reservation for OBC cannot be granted till further orders. The court has also stated that the statistics about OBSc by the Commission is not proper. The OBCs had sought reservation upto 37 percent, based on their population in the country.
The Opposition in Maharashtra has alleged failure of Mahavikas Aghadi Government of failure to grant relief to the OBCs.
The issue is likely to be raised during the ongoing budget session of the State Legislature.
