The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol, also known as ‘Bhanu,’ has been on the run after fleeing India on a fake passport. He was reportedly spotted in Kenya last year and more recently in Canada. Anmol is wanted for his involvement in multiple criminal activities, including the high-profile murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022. To date, 18 cases have been registered against him.
Earlier this year, the Mumbai Police issued a lookout circular for Anmol Bishnoi after he claimed responsibility on social media for a firing incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence on April 14. This marked the first public confirmation of his connection to criminal activities involving Salman Khan, a link that has escalated with new allegations regarding his role in the murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.
Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12 by three gunmen while celebrating Dussehra outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office. Investigations have revealed that Anmol Bishnoi was in direct communication with the shooters responsible for Siddique’s murder. Operating from Canada and the US, Anmol reportedly used social media platforms like Snapchat to coordinate the attack. Police sources indicate that he shared an image of Zeeshan Siddique with the accused shooters through Snapchat, directing them to target Baba Siddique due to the family’s close ties with Bollywood star Salman Khan.
Following the murder, a member of the Bishnoi gang posted on Facebook, claiming responsibility for the assassination. The post alleged that Baba Siddique was targeted because of his connections to Salman Khan and purported links to underworld figures like Dawood Ibrahim.
So far, 10 individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of Baba Siddique, including two shooters and an arms supplier. The police continue to investigate Anmol Bishnoi’s involvement, with his name surfacing in connection to other crimes as well. The Rs 10 lakh reward offered by the NIA underscores the urgency of capturing the fugitive, who remains a significant threat.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in Anmol Bishnoi’s capture as investigations into the case continue.
