East Godavari (Andhra Pradesh) [India], April 11 (ANI): Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan held a roadshow in East Godavari and hit out at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and said that the NDA alliance will do “justice” to the weaker sections of society in the state.

“As Jagan Reddy is saying Siddham, we will give them an unforgettable war (Yuddham). TDP made GMC Balayogi as Speaker of the Parliament. NDA alliance will take the responsibility of doing justice to the weaker sections of society. We have given a declaration for the Backward Classes. With this declaration, the fate of the Backward Classes will be changed and they will get a pension from the age of 50. Through the sub-plan, we will spend Rs 1.50 lakh crores in 5 years and uplift the Backward Classes financially,” Chandrababu Naidu said.

He further said that they would bring back 34 per cent of reservations for Backward Classes in the local bodies.

“We will bring back 34 per cent reservations for Backward Classes in the local bodies. We will fight for BC reservations in legislatures. We will pass a resolution and fight in the Centre until it gets approved. We will do a caste census as per the law and introduce a special protection act for the BCs. We will spend Rs 5,000 crores for the Adharana scheme and make Chandranna Bima Rs 10 lakh,” he added.

The Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled for May 13, with vote counting set for June 4.

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly consists of 175 seats and a party would need at least 88 seats to form a government.

In the 2014 Assembly elections, the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP won with a majority of 102 seats. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP won 67 seats. The BJP could only win four seats by contesting against the two regional heavyweights.

In the 2019 Assembly elections, the YSRCP won with a thumping majority of 151 seats, while the TDP was confined to 23 seats.

The election for 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country will be held in seven phases starting April 19. The counting of votes for the Lok Sabha as well as the assemblies will take place on June 4. (ANI)
