Bhopal, 7 September : On the occasion of International Day of Clean Air 2023 (International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies), a national programme is being organised today (on Thursday) at Bhopal’s Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium. The programme will start at 11 a.m. in the presence of union Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Gulshan Bamra on Organizing Clean Air Day in Madhya Pradesh
Gulshan Bamra, Principal Secretary, Environment Department, said that this is the first time that the national programme of International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies is being organised in a state outside Delhi. union Minister of State for Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Madhya Pradesh Environment Minister Hardeep Singh Dung, and Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh will be special guests in the national programme.
Principal Secretary Bamra Announces Release of Best Efforts Compendium on Air Pollution
Principal Secretary Bamra said that in the National Clean Air Programme, there will also be a release of a compendium of the best efforts by the cities to reduce air pollution. This will give impetus to the efforts being made by other cities towards clean air. In the programme, the cities securing the first three positions in the Clean Air Survey 2023 will also be rewarded.

Bamra said that in the Clean Air Survey 2023, Indore is first in the category of cities with more than 10 lakh population, Agra second, Thane third, Amravati first in the three to 10 lakh population category, Moradabad second, Guntur third, and less than three lakh population. In the category, Parvanu is first, Kala Amb is second, and Angul is third.
