As the flagship initiative of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the NCS project has continually evolved to meet the dynamic needs of the job market. With a mission to provide comprehensive employment-related services, the NCS portal has become a trusted platform for job matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, and skill development.
Empowering Jobseekers
With over 2.76 crore registered jobseekers, including 1.15 crore rural youth, the NCS portal has been instrumental in connecting aspiring individuals with meaningful employment opportunities. Offering a diverse range of services, including job search and matching, career guidance, and employability skill assessment, the portal has empowered jobseekers to explore new horizons and embark on rewarding career journeys.
Facilitating Employer Engagement
On the other hand, the NCS portal has emerged as a preferred destination for employers seeking talented professionals. With more than 1 million employers onboard, including a significant surge in registrations during the year 2022-23, the portal has facilitated seamless interaction between recruiters and potential candidates. The surge in employer engagement reflects the growing recognition of NCS as a reliable platform for talent acquisition and recruitment.
Milestone Achievements
The year 2022-23 witnessed remarkable milestones for the NCS project. Notably, the reporting of vacancies on the portal surged to a record high of 35.7 lakhs, marking a significant increase compared to previous years. This exponential growth in vacancy posting across various sectors underscores the pivotal role of NCS in addressing the evolving needs of the job market.
Furthermore, the integration of NCS with state employment portals has expanded its reach and accessibility, enabling jobseekers from diverse backgrounds to access employment opportunities seamlessly. With 28 state employment portals integrated, including direct utilization by seven states/UTs, the NCS project has ushered in a new era of collaborative efforts in the domain of employment generation and skill development.
