Former First Lady Melania Trump issued a statement on Sunday denouncing the attempted assassination of her husband, Donald Trump, during a campaign rally. Melania referred to the shooter as a “monster” who targeted Donald Trump, describing him as an “inhuman political machine” seeking to silence Donald’s passion and impact on others.
“When I witnessed that violent bullet striking my husband, Donald, I realized that my life and Barron’s life were at the precipice of profound change,” Melania Trump expressed, mentioning their 18-year-old son.
She expressed gratitude to the brave Secret Service agents and law enforcement personnel who risked their lives to protect her husband during the incident at Butler, Pennsylvania, where Donald Trump was hit in the ear. The shooting resulted in the deaths of the gunman and a bystander, with two others critically injured.
Offering her condolences to the victims’ families, Melania Trump expressed deep sympathy, noting the need for strength in such tragic circumstances.
Throughout Donald Trump’s ongoing political activities, Melania, 54, has largely remained out of the public eye and has not actively participated in his campaign events or legal battles. Her statement marks a rare public engagement amidst her husband’s activities leading up to the 2024 election campaign.
