In a shocking revelation, a Malayalam actor has accused Tamil-Malayalam actor Riyaz Khan of sexual misconduct, claiming that he made inappropriate advances during a phone conversation. The accusations surfaced during an interview with a regional Malayalam news channel, where the actor detailed the disturbing interaction she had with Riyaz Khan.
According to the actor, the incident occurred after Riyaz Khan obtained her phone number from a photographer without her consent. She explained that he called her late at night, initiating a conversation that quickly turned explicit. During the call, Riyaz Khan allegedly asked her if she was interested in engaging in sexual activities with him. He reportedly even inquired about her preferred sexual positions, which left the actor feeling shocked and unable to respond. At the time of the incident, she was just 20 years old.
The actor further elaborated that Riyaz Khan, sensing her disinterest, shifted the conversation to suggest that she could ‘arrange some women’ for him during his stay in Kochi. The actor expressed her disbelief and disgust at the proposition, highlighting the sense of entitlement and disregard for consent that such behavior demonstrates.
This isn’t the first time the Malayalam actor has brought forth allegations of sexual misconduct. She had previously accused veteran actor Siddique of rape. Following her earlier allegations, Siddique resigned from his position as General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) on August 25. Speaking to a television channel, Siddique confirmed his resignation, stating, “Yes, I have tendered my official resignation to the president of the organisation, Mohanlal. Since there were allegations against me, I have decided not to continue in the post and resigned.”
The actor’s revelations come in the wake of the Justice Hema Committee report, which has exposed deep-rooted issues within the Malayalam film industry, including casting couch practices, sexual abuse, pay disparities, and lobbying. The report has brought to light the pervasive nature of sexual misconduct and power dynamics that many female actors face in the industry.
