In a bid to escalate the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign for the Lok Sabha Election 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a mega rally in Agra, Western Uttar Pradesh, today. The BJP aims to draw a crowd of approximately 2 lakh people to the rally, with arrangements in place for transportation from each booth of the nine legislative assemblies in the district. A ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ ceremony was conducted by BJP leaders at the Kothi Meena Bazaar ground, the venue for the Prime Minister’s rally.

Meanwhile, the poll campaign for the second phase concluded on Wednesday, as top leaders of both the BJP-led NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc made final efforts to sway voters. The second phase of polling, slated for April 26, will encompass 88 constituencies across 12 states and Union Territories.

In other election-related news, BJP Kannauj candidate Subrata Pathak is set to file his nomination on Thursday, while the Samajwadi Party announced Akhilesh Yadav as its candidate for the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat. Independent candidate Mridula Katheria filed her nomination from the Etawah Lok Sabha seat, pitting herself against her husband, BJP MP Ram Shankar Katheria.

Paramilitary forces conducted a flag march in various parts of Reasi town in Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of the polling scheduled for April 26, to bolster confidence among residents regarding safety and law and order.

Additionally, BJP leader Pankaja Munde filed the nomination from the Beed parliamentary constituency. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech, targeting the Congress party’s alleged plans of wealth redistribution, continued to be a focal point of the BJP’s campaign for the second phase.
