Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav marked his 77th birthday with grand celebrations, including cutting a 77-kg cake at the Rabri residence in Patna. The event, held late at night, saw Lalu Yadav surrounded by family members, including his son Tej Pratap Yadav, wife Rabri Devi, and daughter.
Lalu Yadav, known for his vibrant political career spanning over four decades, humorously noted that he is unsure of his exact birthdate, celebrating based on the date recorded in his school certificate. The RJD, his party, also planned elaborate festivities to honor their leader’s milestone birthday.
Lalu Yadav’s political journey began in 1977 when he was first elected to the Lok Sabha from Bihar’s Chhapra seat, now known as Saran. Over the years, he held multiple positions, including MLA, chief minister, and member of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
Despite facing legal challenges, notably resigning as Bihar’s chief minister in 1997 due to the fodder scam indictment, Lalu Yadav maintained his popularity and continued to influence Bihar’s political scene. His resilience and enduring appeal have made him a significant figure in Indian politics.
