New Delhi, 28 August (HS): Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Defence, Aden Bear Dule, arrived in New Delhi on Monday on a three-day visit to India. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will hold talks with his Kenyan counterpart on Tuesday. During his stay, Dule will visit Indian shipyards and defence industries in Goa and Bengaluru.
Cabinet Secretary Dule took charge of the new government in September 2022, and this is his first visit to India since then. This is his highest-level political visit from Kenya. The visit is indicative of the importance India attaches to its relations with African countries, and in particular to the growing cooperation between India and Kenya. This is expected to open new avenues to further strengthen defence cooperation between the two countries.
