Prabhas and director Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ continues its meteoric rise at the box office, edging closer to the coveted Rs 400 crore mark in India. Since its release on June 27 across 2D and 3D formats in multiple languages, the film has not only shattered opening day records but also maintained a strong hold in theatres nationwide.
As of its sixth day in cinemas, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ amassed approximately Rs 371 crore nett in India alone, bolstered largely by robust performances in Telugu and Hindi markets, which contributed Rs 193.2 crore and Rs 12.4 crore respectively. The film’s Tuesday collections stood at Rs 27.85 crore nett, with Telugu and Hindi versions leading the charge with Rs 11.2 crore and Rs 14 crore respectively. Tamil and Malayalam versions added approximately Rs 1 crore each to the total.
Despite a slight drop in numbers compared to Day 5, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ remains a box office juggernaut, with expectations soaring to cross Rs 600 crore globally soon. The film’s worldwide gross already nears this milestone, buoyed by strong international performance and continued audience interest.
