The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has disclosed intricate details surrounding the successful rescue mission, liberating four hostages from Gaza. Unveiled on Saturday, the operation, dubbed “Seeds of Summer,” culminated in the extraction of Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv from the clutches of Hamas, following a “high-risk, complex” endeavor.
According to IDF reports, the hostages, abducted during the Nova music festival on October 7, were liberated in a meticulously orchestrated operation involving precision intelligence and strategic planning. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, of the Israel Defense Force, lauded the surgical precision of the operation, which unfolded at approximately 11 a.m. local time in central Gaza’s Nuseirat district.
The rescue operation, executed by the National Police special anti-terror unit (Yamam) alongside Shin Bet agents, marked the culmination of weeks of intensive training for the soldiers involved. Notably, Noa Agamani, 26, was found in an apartment, while Almog Meir Jan, 22, Shlomi Ziv, 41, and Andrey Kozlov, 27, were rescued from a separate location.
In a poignant display of heroism, aerial footage shared by the IDF captured the heart-stopping moment as three of the hostages sprinted alongside Israeli forces towards a waiting helicopter, ultimately securing their escape from Gaza. Tragically, Chief Inspector Arnon Zmora succumbed to his injuries during the operation, evoking tributes from Israeli Ambassador to India Naor Gilon and condolences from across the nation.
As the rescued hostages undergo medical evaluations at the ‘Sheba’ Tel-HaShomer Medical Center, the IDF remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring their safe return. Amid conflicting casualty reports from Hamas-run media outlets, the IDF maintains its stance on the operation’s success in minimizing collateral damage while delivering swift justice and securing the hostages’ freedom.
