Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur detained 2 individuals on Tuesday in connection with an IPL betting racket. Alongside the arrests, authorities confiscated Rs 2.47 lakh in cash, as well as laptops and mobile phones, from the suspects’ possession.
Investigations unveiled that Ajim and Arafat utilized the Cricket Live Guru app to monitor and annotate IPL scores, enticing individuals to engage in online betting on ongoing IPL matches. During interrogation, the duo disclosed their collaboration with other individuals, including Himanshu, Furkan, Das Nishu alias Neeraj Lal, Imran alias Immu, and Delhi resident Nikku, for IPL betting activities.
Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining accused who are currently evading law enforcement.
