Islamabad, 25 Aug : Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan did not get any relief in the Toshakhana case from the Islamabad High Court on Friday. His petition challenging his imprisonment was not entertained and the next hearing was deferred to August 28.
Islamabad’s Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar on August 5 sentenced three-year jail for Imran Khan, which was challenged in the High Court. The hearing was deferred by a day on Thursday by the bench consisting of Justice Aamer Farukh and Justice Tarik Mahmood Jahangiri. The hearing was again deferred to August 28 on Friday.
Khan’s lawyer Latif Khosa pleaded that the judgement was delivered in a hurry and has several deficiencies. He demanded the immediate release of Imran Khan. The Supreme Court has stayed action in Imran Khan’s case till the disposal of the case pending with it. The court deferred the hearing as Adv Amjad Parvez of the Election Commission informed the court about his illness.
