In a horrific incident that has gripped the community with horror, three schoolboys are currently facing charges after allegedly raping and murdering an eight-year-old girl. The gruesome event unfolded on July 7, near a local temple, where the juveniles reportedly tried to emulate scenes they had seen in pornographic videos.
The Superintendent of Police, Adhiraj Singh Rana, reported that the accused, two of whom are 12 and one aged 13, were arrested on July 10. According to Rana, the boys lured the young girl, a Class 3 student, with the intention of playing and then assaulted and strangled her.
Following the murder, the boys’ relatives, including a father and uncle, attempted to cover up the crime by moving the victim’s body. They transported her remains on a two-wheeler, weighed down with a rock, and threw it into the River Krishna. These adults have also been apprehended for their involvement in concealing the murder.
SP Rana provided further details, stating, “The minors lured the child, assaulted her, and then strangled her. Her body was initially kept in a canal before being discarded in the river by the relatives. We have since arrested both the youths involved and their relatives connected to the crime.”
A rigorous search operation is ongoing for the recovery of the girl’s body, utilizing drones and underwater cameras, with assistance from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
This case has raised significant concerns about the accessibility of explicit content to minors and its potential impact on their behavior. In response to the tragedy, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V Anitha announced that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has sanctioned a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the victim’s family.
As this distressing case continues to unfold, the community and local authorities are calling for stricter controls on the content accessible to young individuals. The tragic loss of the young girl has sparked discussions on broader societal issues, focusing on how such exposure can profoundly influence juvenile behavior.
