Union Minister Giriraj Singh has sharply criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, drawing a contentious comparison between her and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. He accused Banerjee of being intolerant to opposition views and warned of potential consequences following her controversial statements regarding recent violence in Bengal and the broader political climate in India. Singh also took aim at other political leaders who he claims are supporting Banerjee’s stance.

  • Singh claimed these leaders are forming a ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang, aligning with those responsible for the unrest in Bengal.
  • He argued that Mamata Banerjee is losing her popularity in Bengal and is making provocative statements as a result.
  • Singh criticized Banerjee for allegedly undermining the federal structure of India, implying that her actions go against democratic principles.
  • He questioned the support of leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Yadav for Banerjee, suggesting they are backing undemocratic behaviour.
  • On a separate issue, Singh condemned a notice from the Waqf Board in Patna, calling it unconstitutional and claiming it has no legitimate place in Indian governance.
