Udhampur, 13 September : The fortnightly activities under Gandhi Jayanti celebrations commenced on Wednesday at Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur.

Powerful Nukkad Natak on Creating a Drug-Free India

On the Day one, NSS unit, in collaboration with the Department of Music under the guidance of Prof. Anjali Mahajan, Principal of the college organised Nukkad Natak on the themes Nasha Mukt Bharat and Bhrashtachar Mukt JK.

The objective of organizing this Nukkad Natak was to spread awareness among the students about hazards of drug abuse, misuse, drug addiction, corruption etc. The Natak also aimed at encouraging the students to contribute their bit in the eradication of the menace of drug addiction and corruption from our society.

About 60 students witnessed the Nukkad Natak with great enthusiasm. Volunteers who presented the Nukkad Natak on the said theme received a lot of applause from the audience.

The Nukkad Nattak was organised by, Sumita Rao, NSS PO, and Yash Kumar, Department of Music while the technical assistance was provided by Dr. Kewal Kumar, Department of Botany.

The others among teaching faculty Ms. Tania Akhter, Tania Mahajan, Yash Paul and Sanjeev Upadhayay were present during the Nukkad Natak.
