The Food Safety and Drug Administration Department (FDA) in Noida has launched an investigation after two individuals reported falling ill following consumption of food from McDonald’s in Sector 18 and Theobroma bakery in Sector 104.
According to officials, the complaints were lodged via the Food Safety Connect portal of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
A customer complaint against the McDonald’s outlet in Noida Sector 18 alleged sickness after consuming a burger and french fries. In response, FDA officials visited the outlet to collect samples of palm oil, cheese, and mayonnaise.
Similarly, a woman reported feeling unwell after consuming a stale cake from Theobroma bakery in Sector 104. An FDA team collected samples of the pineapple cake for laboratory analysis.
Assistant Commissioner (Food) of FDA, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Archana Dheeran, stated that further action, including potential case registration, would depend on the laboratory reports, expected within a month.
